INTER-YEAR MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Rationale

The Ateneo International Studies Students Organization (AISSO) will be conducting the AISSO Inter-Year Mentorship Program on September 16, 2022, from 9 AM - 5 PM. Now in its second year, this weekly program serves as a venue for students to interact and acquire academic tips and know-hows. It is a program centered around the resolving of traditionally problematic issues centered around student unpreparedness when entering the course and its various subjects.

Additionally, the program fosters the establishment of inter-year level exchange and communication. It allows for a more personal and hands-on approach provided by IS student mentors through mentorship to assist fellow students in the course. Lower-year students will garner basic knowledge and technical skills provided to them by higher-year level International Studies students. Through this program, it is acclimating the students to the nature and culture of the course and organization.

Objectives

The project aims to:

1. Foster student preparedness for various student-centered issues and problems encountered from the online class setup and course related activities.

2. Informs students, especially freshmen, on the various opportunities and basic knowledge provided by the university.

3. Establish a sense of community among the students through the inter-year level interactions and guidance.

4. Presents an avenue for mentees to ask advice from their higher-year level mentors when it comes to technical skills and personal development.

5. Allows mentors to interact and improve social interaction among different year levels in the
IS community.
